Manny Pacquiao vs Ricky Hatton - Street Fighter style!

This is a blasphemy to Chuck Norris - how dare they put his character as one of the fighters in game?

The other fighters in the game include Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Stephen Chow, Bruce Lee, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Steven Seagal, James Bond, Rambo, George Bush, Tony Blair, FVR, Erap, and Ferdinand Marcos!

Now that's a game I would really play!

Taking Wolfram Alpha for a spin - interesting questions, interesting answers

I'm taking Wolfram Alpha for a spin, asking it some pretty tough questions. The first line is my question (call it search query if you want), the next one is Alpha's answer.

Q - how old is barack obama on sept 11 2001
A - 40 years 1 month 7 days

Q - height of mt everest in inches
A - 348 425 inches

Q - when is the next solar eclipse philippines
A - 10:35AM PHT, July 22, 2009 (0.1632 years from now)
* alpha also shows the path of the eclipse, and says that India, Bangladesh, Myanmar and China are in the path of the totality. Link is amazing, here.

Q - muhammad ali standing
A - Alpha doesn't know how to treat this query. Instead it offers an entry on Muhammad Ali.

Q - d/dx sin x * log x
A - sin x / (x * ln 10) + log x * cos x /ln 10
* apart from the answer above, it offers plots, alternate forms, numerical roots to 15 decimal places, series expansion, and an indefinite integral! here.
* woohoo! it understands complex math! I wish I was still a student. log = log base 10

Q - NBA
A - Development of this topic is under investigation...

Overall, Alpha is very interesting. But don't expect it to replace Google.

2 thoughts on Hayden Kho's sex videos

Thought #1 - From my brother.
Q: Anong klaseng camera ang iskandaloso? (What kind of camera is scandalous?)
A: "Hayden" camera (Hayden/hidden camera)

Thought #2 - From @bryanflurry: Hayden scandal vids is the new pokemon, gotta catch them all!

Apparently, Hayden secretly filmed more than Katrina Halili. Some news stories here talking about proliferation of Hayden-Katrina Halili sex videos, even Vicki Belo has her vid?, and a lot more!

Hayden is doing an Edison Chen.

I don't wanna post photos.

Making up words makes you look stupid?

Using similar logic, probability that an idea is good is inversely proportional to the number of made-up words...

Krispy Kreme - Glaze your friends for a free doughnut

Krispy Kreme is offering free doughnuts + coffee in exchange for your personal info (to send you "communication" presumably in the future).

So how do you do that?

1. A friend emailed me to visit chocolatekarnival.com and claim my freebies.
2. Enter your data to claim your freebies. But that's Step 1 of 3.

3. Spray it out to your social network contacts, or put in your friends' email.

4. An email is sent to you which you can print and bring to the store.

More foot traffic going into the stores also means a higher chance of purchase apart from the freebies they will give away.

I'll try and get my donut and tell you what happened!

Obama's impact on politics & social media: Even President GMA is on Twitter.

I am not a fan of the President of the Philippines, but I like her effort to become more visible in the social media space. She's @PresidentGMA on Twitter.

This move by our local politicians to put up presences in various popular sites was led and proven strongly by none other than Barack Obama, who won the US presidential election largely due to his groundbreaking internet campaign.

2010 is election season again. Philippine politicians are looking to reapply Obama's tactics. I hope they can reapply his brains and leadership instead.

International media pwned by student's fake Wikipedia quote. FAIL.

This is startling proof of how increasingly dependent traditional media outlets are on the internet, and how they are doing this without the proper checks and balances. An Irish student recently made up a fake quote in the Wikipedia entry of musician Maurice Jarre a few hours after his death. Although the quote was spotted and removed by the Wikipedia community within a few hours, dozens of media outlets had gotten the news and used it on their articles.

So far only The Guardian admitted their mistake.

While the internet makes things faster for everyone, that doesn't mean everything available is reliable. People - especially the media! - have to be vigilant.

FAIL.

I love to Singa - early Simon Cowell

Any person who loves cartoons should remember this lovable cartoon "I love to Sing-a" featuring a cute large-eyed Owl family.

According to youtube user bugzappers2112, "I Love to Singa depicts the story of a young owlet who wants to sing jazz, instead of the classical music that his German parents wish him to perform. The plot is a light-hearted tribute to that of Al Jolson's film The Jazz Singer.

The young owl, voiced by Tommy Bond, best known as "Butch" of the Our Gang (Little Rascals) films, is unjustly kicked out of his family's house by his disciplinarian violinist father (voiced by Billy Bletcher) after he is caught singing jazz instead of Drink to Me Only with Thine Eyes to his mother (voiced by Martha Wentworth)'s reed (pump) organ accompaniment. (However she is not depicted as operating the pump pedals.) While wandering, he comes across a radio amateur contest, hosted by "Jack Bunny" (a pun on Jack Benny), and billing himself as "Owl Jolson", wins the contest, but not before his father has finally seen his son's potential and allowed him to freely sing jazz."

If you watch the video (embedded below) the judge "Jacky Bunny" reminds me of Simon Cowell.
I remember how I used to watch this when my age was still of 1 digit. I love how good old stuff get spread virally over the internet!

Making the jump from the corporate world to entrepreneurship

Are you thinking about jumping from the corporate world to entrepreneurship? Getting tired from being the proverbial "corporate slave"? If you say yes to these questions, then the succeeding content will be very interesting for you.

This is from a nice article from the AMEX OpenForum, entitled "How to escape Mundanity" an interview with Pamela Slim by Guy Kawasaki.

The article focused on several key questions you may have before making the career jump. I'm going to summarize each point as "twitter"-ly as possible.

Q1. How do you know when it is time to quit your day job?
A1. No perfect formula, but 2 signs: 1-realistic picture of your financial life + risks you'll take. 2- you've worked on your business as an aside from your day job.
My thought - I'm actually experiencing something similar right now on a startup... Maybe quit your day job when you begin to earn money that equals your day job. :)

Q2. But isn’t it crazy to start a business in this economy?
A2. This is an excellent time! Many people are sitting back in fear and afraid to move, that you actually have lots of room to step into new markets.

Q3. How do you decide which business to start?
A3. Passion (entrepreneurship is too hard to manufacture enthusiasm). Skill + competence. Business plan. Business model.

Q4. What is the very first step that I should take?
A4. Spend your time getting to know yourself.
My thought - not so pragmatic, but I guess it makes sense

Q5. By the way, should a person get started and then quit or quit and then get started?
A5. Get started and then quit

Q6. If you have limited financial resources, what is the best way to start a business?
A6. Start by testing and prototyping very small parts of your business.

Q7. Do you have to have a PowerPoint pitch?
A7. Not really. (if you're interested though, watch this vid.)

Q8. Do you have to have a business plan?
A8. You don’t have to have a complex business plan with thirteen attachments and spreadsheets, but you do need to engage in business planning.

Q9. What is the fastest way to build buzz about a company?
A9. Twitter, but it can't be your only tool

Q10. What if your spouse doesn’t support your entrepreneurial dreams?
A10. Demonstrate in big and small ways that you can follow through with plans, listen with openness and without judgment to concerns raised, and make a plan that feels like a reasonable amount of risk to both of you.

Q11. How do you find the time to work on a side business with a mortgage to pay and spouse and kids that need attention?
A11. Prioritize. When you are running on a very lean and efficient schedule and have a manageable list of weekly tasks for your business, you will make progress.

Q12. What is the most common mistake the “escapees” make?
A12. Thinking that they have to get all their plans absolutely perfect before launching.

What do you think?

Is Ricky Hatton a man? Is Manny Pacquiao a man?

I came across this funny blog while looking for Ricky Hatton - Manny Pacquiao related news.

This blog says that Ricky Hatton is a real man (tunay na lalake) while Manny Pacquiao is under consideration.

What do you think?

The case for Pacman
The case for Hatton

Things that sell good in the Philippines will be milked

Over at Manuel Quezon III's blog, I saw this very depressing article, about Customs suddenly imposing tariff on books like Twilight.

I have a short description for this: Things that sell good in the Philippines will be milked (by government)

"Stephenie Meyer’s novel “Twilight” apparently did so well in the bookstores that the number of copies being imported attracted the attention of a Customs official. Examiner Rene Agulan decreed that duties be paid. It seems that the importer of the book reacted in a manner familiar to most book lovers in the country: to eliminate the hassle, the importer complied with the Customs levy on the title."

This is the worst part: "Take the official’s interpretation of the following sentence in RA 8047 (the Book Publishing Industry Development Act): “the tax and duty-free importation of books or raw materials to be used in book publishing.” According to Sales, this lacked a comma after the word “books,” which meant that what was tax and duty-free was only books used for book publishing."

OMG.

Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao destroys Ricky Hatton

Pacman destroyed Hatton at 2:59 in the 2nd Round. Hatton looked like a rookie boxer fighting a champion.

Hatton looked seriously hurt after Manny's left hook (don't really know how to describe that punch - it came from below and hit Hatton's chin, but it doesn't seem to be an uppercut to me) landed. He just lay there on the ground, arms and legs stretched out.

It was a quick victory. This is a similarly quick post.
